James A. Robinson

Mr. Robinson joined Connolly Krause LLC as an associate in October of 2021. He currently concentrates his practice in the areas of constitutional torts and medical malpractice. He represents clients in federal court in all stages of litigation, primarily defending medical professionals.

Mr. Robinson began his legal career working for a boutique Plaintiff’s law firm where he represented his clients in state courts throughout northern Illinois. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Robinson was an Assistant Attorney General with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office practicing in Chicago, Rockford, Peoria and Urbana, Illinois. While there, he defended a variety of constitutional tort cases for state employees. Mr. Robinson won summary judgment in numerous cases in the Northern and Central districts of Illinois, negotiated settlements to benefit his clients, and conducted federal jury trials to a successful verdict.

Mr. Robinson received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School, now University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, in 2010 where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Robinson volunteered to assist low income filers with tax returns and served as a student publications editor for the John Marshall Law Review.

James lives in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood where he enjoys jogging along the lakefront or enjoying a hammock and a good book.
