Jeffrey J. Escher
Partner

Mr. Escher joined the Connolly & Krause firm as an associate in April of 2010 and became a partner in January 2014. He began his legal career at an in-house insurance defense firm before working at a plaintiff’s firm in Chicago. Mr. Escher attended Chicago Kent College of Law where he earned honors for the highest grade in Trial Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution, obtaining his J.D. in May of 2006.

During law school, Mr. Escher was part of the inaugural class of the Seventh Circuit Review, a legal journal developed by students of Chicago-Kent.  His article, cited below, was published in the journal and has been cited by other legal articles regarding copyright infringement and digital music access.

Mr. Escher concentrates his work in the areas of motor vehicle collisions, intentional torts, medical and dental malpractice, premises liability, employment practice liability, construction defect and injury, general litigation, and has successfully defended numerous cases involving serious and catastrophic injuries. Most recently he, along with Jerry Connolly, successfully defended a trucking company at trial by receiving a not-guilty verdict where the co-defendant was found liable to plaintiff in the amount of $1.4million.  He, along with Mike Krause, recently obtained a directed verdict in favor of a dental professional in a malpractice case alleging the development of severe infection requiring a ten-day hospitalization.   A jury also recently returned a verdict in his dental clients' favor following a one week trial in Cook County.

Mr. Escher was previously selected for inclusion as a “Rising Star” by Illinois Super Lawyers and has been named as an Emerging Lawyer in 2015, 2016, and 2017, 2019 and 2020 by Leading Lawyers.

Jeff and his wife Angie, along with their four young children, live on the far northwest side of Chicago. He is active in his school and parish communities and loves spending time coaching his children, traveling, and cooking.
